We Rebuilt Our Website From Scratch — Here's What We Learned

At some point, every business faces the same realization: the website you built when you were starting out no longer represents who you are or what you do. That was us.

Here's what we changed, why we changed it, and what we learned along the way.

Why We Rebuilt

The old site was fine when we launched it. It had the basics — what we do, how to contact us, some social proof. But as Anth.Tech evolved, the site stayed the same. A few problems became impossible to ignore:

It didn't tell a clear story. We'd expanded into AI agents, but the site still presented us as a general digital marketing agency. Visitors couldn't tell what we were actually best at.

The service hierarchy was confusing. AI agents, web development, content marketing, and security all lived at the same visual level. Nothing said "this is the core thing we do."

It wasn't built for how people actually use it. Most of our traffic comes from mobile. The old site was technically responsive but it wasn't designed mobile-first — it was a desktop site that shrank.

It was slow. Not broken-slow, but not fast either. And in a world where Google uses Core Web Vitals as a ranking factor, "not fast enough" costs you.

What We Changed

Architecture

We regrouped our services into three clear categories: AI Agents (our core), Digital Presence (web + marketing), and Infrastructure (email, security, technical ops). This created a hierarchy that makes sense — visitors understand immediately that AI is at the center of what we do, with everything else supporting it.

We also added industry-specific pages. Instead of a generic "we work with businesses," we now have pages for home services, e-commerce, healthcare, restaurants, and more. Each one speaks directly to that industry's pain points and how we solve them.

Technology Decisions

We'd already been building client sites on Next.js, so the decision was easy. We deployed on Vercel with edge functions, which means sub-second load times globally and zero infrastructure management on our end.

We made a deliberate choice to keep the design focused. Dark background, brand blue, clean typography, subtle animations that enhance rather than distract. The goal was to feel like a technical, modern company — not a flashy agency trying to impress you with scroll effects.

The Aesthetic

The dark theme with the blue brand color wasn't just an aesthetic choice — it signals something. It says "technical," "modern," "AI-native." When someone lands on the site, we want them to feel like they've found a company that actually understands the technology. The glassmorphic cards, the particle backgrounds, the precision layout — all of it is intentional.

Results

The new site scores 98+ on Lighthouse performance. Page load time went from ~3 seconds to under 1 second. We haven't had the site live long enough to report on conversion rate changes, but we've already seen the quality of inbound inquiries improve — people arriving from the site already understand what we do, which shortens the sales conversation.

Takeaways for Your Business

When to rebuild vs. refresh: If your core service offering has changed, or if your site is fundamentally confusing to new visitors, rebuild. If the story is right but the design is dated, a visual refresh might be enough.

Service hierarchy matters more than you think. Your most important service should be visually dominant. Don't bury your best offer in a list of equals.

Mobile-first isn't optional. Design for the smallest screen first and scale up. It's a discipline shift, but it produces better results across every device.

Speed is a feature. Every second of load time costs you conversions. If your site takes more than 2-3 seconds to load, fix it before running ads.
